Lipocalin?2 mediates the rejection of neural transplants

چکیده

Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) has been implicated in promoting apoptosis and neuroinflammation neurological disorders; however, its role neural transplantation remains unknown. In this study, we cultured differentiated Lund human mesencephalic (LUHMES) cells into dopaminergic-like neurons found that LCN2 mRNA was progressively induced mouse brain after the intrastriatal of neurons. The induction protein detected a subset astrocytes neutrophils infiltrating core engrafted sites, but not microglia. LCN2-immunoreactive within sites expressed lower levels A1 A2 astrocytic markers. Recruitment microglia, neutrophils, monocytes attenuated deficiency mice. expression M2 microglial markers significantly elevated survival markedly improved Brain type organic cation transporter (BOCT), cell surface receptor for LCN2, differentiation, treatment with recombinant directly dose-dependent manner. Our results, therefore, suggested is neurotoxic factor modulator neuroinflammation. inhibition may be useful reducing rejection transplantation.

Transcription factor IRF-1 in kidney transplants mediates resistance to graft necrosis during rejection.

In many circumstances kidney transplants remain viable despite extensive inflammation, permitting rejection episodes to be reversed. The mechanisms by which the kidney resists host effector mechanisms are not known. In mouse kidney transplants, resistance requires interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma), which acts on the graft to protect the graft from necrosis during the first days of rejection as well ...

Progesterone inhibits rejection of xenogeneic transplants in the sheep uterus.

OBJECTIVES One of the proposed roles of progesterone is to prevent maternal immunological destruction of the allogeneic conceptus. Here, it was demonstrated that progesterone allows survival of a xenotransplant placed in the uterine lumen. METHODS Ovariectomized ewes, surgically prepared to have ligatures around each uterine horn, were given daily subcutaneous injections of 50 mg progesterone...

The survival and rejection of epithelium in experimental corneal transplants.

Evidence is presented that the epithelium on a donor corneal allograft is neither sloughed off rapidly in the immediate postoperative period, nor is it even slowly replaced by recipient epithelium in the technically successful corneal transplant. Specific immunologic rejection of the surviving epithelium of a graft may take place long after transplantation, and is characterized by a linear defe...

Noninvasive diagnosis of acute rejection of solid organ transplants.

Accurate diagnosis of acute rejection remains a formidable challenge in organ transplantation. The current gold standard diagnostic test for acute rejection is histological examination of the transplanted organ. However, biopsy procedures are invasive and complications occur. Furthermore, sampling errors may bias the histological diagnosis. Not uncommonly, empiric anti-rejection therapy has to ...
